It’s finally the long weekend, and you’ve got a whole lot of ‘the usual’ ahead of you. Tonight, the plan is Chinese takeout and a movie. Tomorrow, you’re grabbing a drink at a nearby dive bar. And Sunday, you’ll be nursing your hangover in front of the TV. Well here’s a thought: spice things up a bit with a trip to Acacia Bistro, a Van Ness spot serving up spectacular vino and eats Tom Sietsema of The Washington Post calls “irresistible” and “too delicious to pass along” for others to try.
Offering lunch and dinner Monday-Thursday until 10pm and Friday-Saturday until 11pm, Acacia Bistro is the perfect date spot, lunch spot, or just-because spot. Indulge for less with today’s deal: $20 for $40 of food and drinks, valid for the next six months.
Everyone knows that a perfect meal begins with a well-seasoned chef, and Acacia Bistro is no exception. Chef Liliana Dumas is at the helm of the relatively new Acacia Bistro. She cooks her dishes with love and skill, and it shows (with 4 stars on urbanspoon to prove it). Dishes range from artisan cheeses to small plates to meats and pastas (try the Farfalle with Crabmeat Sauce; it’s to-die-for).
But let’s not forget the drinks. Acacia Bistro boasts an impressive selection of reasonably priced wines served by the half glass, full glass, ¼ liter, or bottle, plus cocktails and beers. For flightier types hesitant to commit, they also offer flights that allow patrons to sample several wines for one price! And of course, finish off the meal with something sweet.
So buy as many vouchers as you’d like (there’s no limit), and do something different for a change. After all, you have your whole life ahead of you to settle into ‘the usual’… and this deal is only around until Thursday!
