We all know the nine to five grind holds many little nuisances. If you hear the phrase ‘best practices’ or ‘going forward’ one more time your synergy is seriously going to suffer. In lieu of another passive-aggressive memo, take out your frustrations in a legal, fun, satisfying way: getting some rounds off at Fox Paintball.
Escape the confines of your cubicle at Fox Paintball’s 60-acre outdoor compound, which houses 20 fields in Millington. The beautifully wooded terrain is not too hilly, but holds tons of structures to hide behind while you plot your next plan of attack. The only thing better than nabbing your opponent square in the chest is scoring an all-day Fox Paintball pass for $20 with all equipment and 300 paintballs included ($54 value). Each game lasts about 10 to 15 minutes, and since your pass is for all-day play, you’ll have plenty of time to move from field to field.
The playing fields are located about an hour and a half from downtown, so this is the perfect day trip. When you arrive, you’ll be placed in teams against other players. You may not be Steve Austin but you’re stone cold serious about kicking some butt every once in a while – no need to take any names. Typically you’ll play two games, re-fuel, and then you’re off again. Since all this winning is bound to make you hungry, we suggest you bring some food to throw on the grill—Fox Paintball is BYO protein and veggies.
You can buy two vouchers (limit of one per visit), and they’re open every Saturday and Sunday, rain or shine (unless it’s below 20 degrees, in which case they’re closed). Make sure to check their hours before you go because the schedule changes season to season. So round up some pals and form a team. On Monday, you’ll close your eyes against the glow of your monitor to replay the thrills of your weekend paintball victory. That shot where you leaped out of the trench, got off 5 rounds mid-stride, and then crawled to safety was particularly rewarding.
